It&#8217;s not just about consuming calcium as we generally eat plenty of foods that contain calcium and other foods that have been fortified with calcium, the body&#8217;s biggest challenge it to break down calcium well enough so the body is able to absorb it and utilize it correctly.</p>
<p>1) Generally, we should be eating natural foods, as close as nature intended. We should be eating foods that provide us with the maximum of nutrients, foods that are easy to digest and work in harmony with our bodies. You need top-grade &#8216;fuel&#8217; to function well. Just as a high performance car would not perform well on low-grade fuel. We can make our body&#8217;s job very difficult or very easy. Good nutrition is essential at any age but even more so as we get older.</p>
<p>2) A healthy program needs to be followed for the rest of your life. I have eaten this way for well over 2 decades now, so I know what it is like to change habits of a lifetime.</p>
<p>3) Exercise is very important, helps the bones, circulation, heart, moods &#8211; includes walking, dancing, jogging, whatever makes you happy and you know you will continue to do.</p>
<p>4) Ban the aluminum cook ware, aluminum is a heavy metal, which enters food from the aluminum pots and pans during cooking, especially if the food is acidic for instance contains tomatoes. It has the ability to interfere with the absorption of calcium and other minerals.</p>
<p>5) Alkaline diet. Most people&#8217;s diet is too acid forming. It makes sense to ensure that you have a more alkaline forming diet. This ensures the body is not continuously leeching calcium out of the bones to neutralize the acidic environment you have created for your body. The more acidic the body is, the more susceptible to disease and degeneration. Alkaline forming foods are vegetables, fruit, seeds, nuts, whole grains etc.</p>
<p>6) Tea Total at meal times. Don&#8217;t drink black tea with meals, as it hinders absorption of calcium and some other minerals, due to the high levels of tannins.</p>
<p>7) Reduce stress levels. Too much stress causes the release of adrenaline, too much adrenaline has a harmful dissolving effect on the bones, and a negative effect on just about every other system in the body.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In order to effectively lose fat and keep it off you must create a lifestyle change for your nutrition and not jump from diet to diet. There are many &#8220;diets&#8221; out there that will grab your attention and allow you to lose weight and fat very rapidly but how long can you maintain such a restricted state?</p>
<p>I have seen too many people go through the yo-yo dieting and by the time they get to the correct answer for effectively losing fat (which is a healthy and balanced diet), they have screwed up their metabolism so much and it takes a long period of time to regulate it again.</p>
<p>If you are looking to lose body fat permanently, you must boost your metabolism by developing lean muscle tissue. In addition to solid strength training workouts, you must fuel your body with a healthy nutrition plan.</p>
<p>Look at a car as an example. If your car does not have enough fuel (gas) it will not run correctly and eventually stop until you refill it. If you do not provide your body with enough fuel (food) it will also not run efficiently.</p>
<p>In order to lose weight and fat you must expend more calories than you take in. This concept makes sense but the problem lies when people actually under eat and end up slowing down their metabolism. This happens because eventually your body goes into protection mode and holds onto as much fuel as possible.</p>
<p>The key to effective fat loss is to properly fuel your body with the right foods at the right times. Here are some key points to help your nutrition plan become as efficient as possible.</p>
<p>1. Eat 5-6 small meals and snacks per day. This will help regulate your blood sugar, prevent overeating at night, and keep you energized for training sessions and daily activities.</p>
<p>2. Eat about 20 grams of protein with every meal. Protein provides the building blocks for our muscles and also is slower to digest thus keeping you full longer.</p>
<p>3. Eat complex carbohydrates and avoid too much sugar and starch. Carbohydrates provide our bodies with high amounts of energy but stay away from the refined and simple kinds. Whole grain breads and rice are better than white but try to get as much fiber and carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables.</p>
<p>4. Choose smart snacks between meals. Eat a small snack between every meal to help regulate your blood sugar and energy levels. This will keep your meals smaller and ultimately cut down on the amount of calories you eat. With this you are well on your way to losing body fat. Great snack choices include; unsalted natural nuts, Greek yogurt, low fat cottage cheese, low fat chocolate milk, Balance Bars, fruit, and veggies.</p>
<p>5. Consume a post-workout nutrition shake. Drink 8-12 ounces of low fat chocolate milk immediately after you train in order to refuel the body, maintain hydration, and help with recovery. This will also prevent overeating if you wait too long after your training session. This small amount of protein will refuel and recharge without adding a lot of calories. The carbohydrates will provide energy and help transport valuable nutrients.</p>
<p>Eating small meals and snacks containing nutrient dense foods (proteins, healthy fats, and fiber) will help to maintain blood sugar and energy levels, and will ultimately give you enough calories to support healthy fat loss and muscle gain. Fill your day with lean proteins (chicken, turkey, fish), fruits, vegetables, low fat dairy, nuts, whole grains, and plenty of water.</p>
<p>Be sure to avoid the &#8220;less is more&#8221; principle when it comes to eating because if you are eating healthy foods and timing them correctly, you will be in great shape for losing body fat and developing a great metabolism.</p>

Standbys like vitamin D and various probiotics still made the list of the most common, but had lost some favor in recent polls.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>For many people the word yoga conjures up something only vaguely related to the lotus position. However, it is more than just one pose; it embraces not only a physical discipline but also a philosophical basis for leading one&#8217;s life. The word itself comes from ancient Sanskrit text and roughly translates to &#8220;royal union, &#8221; which is to say a proper balance between body and mind.</p>
<p>The ancient text that provides the foundation is the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. It was written over two thousand years ago and is divided into four books. They are called the Samadhi Pada, Sadhana Pada, Vibhuti Pada, and the Kaivalya Pada. It is in the Sadhana Pada that one can discover the physical aspect of yoga.</p>
<p>Within the Sadhana Pada one will find the eight &#8220;limbs.&#8221; These steps are known as the Ashtanga yoga. The first five limbs concern external aids while the last three address internal issues. Asana is one of the five external aids, or the third limb, and refers to discipline of the body. It stresses that the body should be kept disease-free while preserving vital energy. It is the teachings found in this book of the Sutras that give rise to what most Westerners construe as yoga.</p>
<p>Asana is the plural of asan which means body position or posture. Its purpose is to improve flexibility, vitality, and promote meditation. Some adherents of asana believe that practicing its positions open up the energy channels and psychic centers in the body. According to asana, any position assumed should be steady and comfortable, yet firm.</p>
<p>As alluded to earlier, the body should not experience any discomfort when assuming any pose. There are dozens of positions that a practitioner can strike, from beginner level to advanced.</p>
<p>Regardless of one&#8217;s level of expertise, there are some fundamental concepts that should be adhered to. The stomach should always be empty before commencing any exercise. The body should not experience any trembling from force or pressure. Breathing should be controlled and not erratic. Most of the exercises are not performed on a floor but rather on a mat, and at the conclusion of the session, time should be spent attaining a deep state of relaxation.</p>
<p>Poses can be done standing up, seated, supine, while balanced, or while the back is bent. There are a wide variety of poses and they can be classified as beginner, intermediate, or advanced level positions. Some beginner standing poses are The Downward Facing Dog, The Standing Forward Bend, and The Pyramid Pose. Seated poses such as Half Lord of the Fishes, Seated Wide Legged Straddle, and the Cobbler&#8217;s Pose are also geared towards those just starting out.</p>
<p>As mentioned, yoga encompasses much more than just forming your body into a specific pose. It is a philosophy that addresses not just corporeal well being but also spiritual needs as well. In fact, the first &#8220;limb&#8221; of the Sutras preaches such virtues as non-violence, truth in word and thought, and celibacy for those who are not married and monogamy for those who are.</p>
